Dear EP Students,
Please see the position description below for an interesting
opportunity.

RA/TA Position

We are looking for a graduate student who can work with an
interdisciplinary team of faculty for the next 2 semesters (Spring
2008, Fall 2009) on the preparation, development, and execution of the
forthcoming university-wide seminar "International Perspectives on
Child and Youth Development in Exceptionally Difficult Circumstances".

This interdisciplinary course will be lead by Ann Easterbrooks (Eliot-
Pearson Department of Child Development), Christina Economos (Friedman
School of Nutrition), and Laurie Miller (Pediatrics at Tufts

attend the weekly classes, and assist with the preparation of class
materials and with student assignments.

Work-Study funds required. The work will be funded at $15/hour and

(12/1/08) Research Opportunity

Research Opportunity at Tufts Medical Center: Improving Access to and
Utilization of Early Intervention Services for Foster Children in
Boston, MA.

Department: Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy
Studies, Center on Child and Family Outcomes
Schedule: The part-time position (approximately 20 hours/week) would
begin in January and continue through August 2009, with a possibility
of extension through December 2009. This position also has the
potential to move to full-time starting in Summer 2009.

Job Description: This position will be devoted to supporting a
research project, funded by the Deborah Munroe Noonan Memorial Fund,
that aims to improve the access to Early Intervention (EI) program
services for young children in foster care in the greater Boston

analysis, and developing training curriculum materials. Interviews
will be conducted with the following stakeholder groups: staff members
of the Massachusetts Departments of Public Health and Department of
Children and Families as well as relative and non-relative foster
caregivers. The interviews will focus on efforts to link the child
welfare system with EI program services, and will culminate in a
training and online toolkit to be used by DCF/DPH staff, Directors of
Boston- area EI programs, and kinship and non-relative foster
caregivers.

The project supervisor is Dr. Laurel Leslie, a developmental and
behavioral pediatrician with expertise in child welfare, health
services research, and the health of young children. Dr. Leslie is a
nationally-renowned researcher, an excellent mentor, and places a
premium on helping students to fully participate in research, have
