Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Developmental Therapist is working
individually with clients in the delivery of the Cognitive Development
Program. Therapists work with children to develop and improve cognitive
abilities. Therapists are responsible for working with and guiding their
clients through the program. This includes individual sessions in the
office as well as advising clients and often their parents or caregivers on
how to implement the home practice component of the program. Other
responsibilities include administrative tasks such as writing reports,
reviewing records, billing and two staff meetings per week.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have experience working in educational or clinical
settings with children who have learning or developmental needs. B.A. is
required. Knowledge of developmental psychology and experience with other
developmental interventions programs such as "Floortime" are a plus.
Candidates need to have superior interpersonal skills and be adept at
building relationships with children and adults. Strong analytic skills are
also needed for learning and applying the Cognitive Development Program.
Benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience and education. Health and dental
insurance benefits (company pays 80%). Three weeks paid vacation and
several U.S. holidays.
Hours
Workdays focus on the afternoons and early evenings (2pm - 7pm) as well as
all day Saturday.
