(4/2/08) Internship - MA or Ph.D.

This paid internship at the Tufts (Medford) Academic Resource Center will be
working on a variety of possible aspects of designing, implementing, and
evaluating support services for Tufts undergraduate and graduate students
who are not reaching their academic potential. The students tend to be first
and second year undergraduates, but also include returning undergraduates
and graduate students up to 50 years old. Students may have a variety of
factors that make them vulnerable in the Tufts academic environment and some
also have documented risk factors (such as having disabilities, coming from
impoverished backgrounds, being a first-generation college student, etc.).
Possible activities include program development, service delivery, program
monitoring, data collection, data entry, and program evaluation. The intern
will work closely with an Eliot-Pearson Ph.D. graduate who will be Assistant
Director of Academic Resources. The opportunity to complete a research study

sibility for the right candidate.
Time commitment: 20 hours per week
Compensation: $18 per hour
Requirements: Experience working with students with a variety of differences
and/or disabilities. Experience delivering and/or designing support
programs. Knowledge of (or ability to learn) Microsoft and SPSS. Theoretical
studies in cognitive development, psychology, learning and teaching, and
risk and resilience a plus.
