JOB DESCRIPTION
Getting School Ready is a collaborative endeavor between the
Somerville Public Schools, Private early childhood programs, community
services that support families as they nurture and educate their
children.
We are seeking an individual to assist us prepare data to inform and
support our goals. We have access to data about the Somerville
community and its resources. The challenge is to:
§ collect the data from several sources
§ analyze it
§ present it in ways that are useful for informing the
community conversation (April 2009) entitled: Somerville's Promising
Practices in Getting School Ready and the Next Steps
o Geo-Mapping
o Power Point
o Charts as appropriate
Qualifications:
Interest and familiarity with community problem-solving
Familiarity with collecting and analyzing data
Working as part of an inter-disciplinary team
Interest in education and family support in Somerville
Ability to create presentations of statistical and other data that are
engaging to target audience
Approximately 50 hours from start to end of semester
Some meetings and local travel, most hours are flexible
