SEEKING Special Friends:
This program pairs Tufts students with children at the Tufts Educational Day Care Center. Students volunteer time playing, laughing, drawing, reading, building, and just having fun. This program is a school year long commitment and entails one two hour visit per week. For more information see the attached handbook.
Before you can start you have to attend an orientations offered at the Tufts Day Care where either June or Seth, teachers at the Day Care, will take you on a tour of the classrooms and give you a better idea of a typical day in the life of your partner child and fill out the application form which consists of contact information, special skills you have and also what you would like in a partner child and a CORI form consenting to a background record check that all Day Care Volunteers must submit. The forms are attached to this email, and here are the orientation times:
1. Monday September 22 at 4:30
2. Tuesday September 23 at 9:45
3. Wednesday September 24 at 12:00
4. Thursday September 25 at 4:00
5 & 6.Monday September 29 either at 12:00 or 3:00
Every year, we get potential SFs who cannot find the Day Care so this year, we decided to try including a map: http://maps.live.com/?v=2&encType=1&cid=63AC02A1E0B12A6F!103
(Click the link and a map will show up. Then click "Bird's Eye" to see a picture of the actual buildings so you can see how to get there. Basically you go to the end of Packard Ave, cross Broadway and walk all the way around the Tufts Administrative Building. It can be kind of tricky your first time so take a look at the map. Hope it helps!!)
If anyone has questions please let us know, we'll be happy to answer them!!
Thanks,
June and Seth

If You Need To Reschedule
Call as soon as you know that you will not be coming and ask to speak with a teacher in your Special Friend's Classroom. Please do not just leave a message in the office because
