(5/8/09) Sweet Jobs: Preschool Director (part-time) and Teacher

The Garden Nursery School in Harvard Square (a parent-coop) has two
very nice job openings. The school runs from 9:00 - 3:00 (9:00 - 1:00
for most children and extended day until 3:00 for a smaller group) and
teachers work 1/2 hour before and 1/2 hour after, plus some evening
board and curriculum meetings, and occasional Saturday parent "work
days." The four-year-olds (17 of them) come on Monday, Wednesday and
Friday and the threes (17) on Tuesday & Thursday. There is a lot of
family involvement and a philosophy of emergent curriculum.

Teaching position (full time): There are two teachers, and this
position is for one of them, to work under the direction of the head
teacher. The school's location is terrific, environment lovely, pay
good, excellent benefits, children smart & sweet. If you are a
beginning ECE teacher and would like to learn further in a stimulating
environment under the direction of a very competent head teacher, you
should look into this.

Administrative Director (Part-Time): Responsibilities include
overseeing curriculum, licensing & accreditation, supervise teachers,
etc. Hours are flexible. DEEC Director I or II required (you may be
able to get this; look on DOE website).

Act quickly on these as they are still accepting applications but are
nearing the final phases. Electronic submission of cover letters and
resumes to:
gns2009hire@gmail.com or send snailmail to: Garden Nursery School;
P.O. Box 382310; Cambridge, MA 02138.

If you would like me to forward the job descriptions, send me an email.
