B.A./B.S. required.
Position involves working on longitudinal study of maternal mood and
hormones during pregnancy and infant and fetal neurobehavior. Primary
responsibility will be for conducting infant neurobehavioral assessments and
collecting biological specimens (placentas, cord blood, saliva). The RA will
interact with labor and delivery and nursery staff, complete chart review,
and recruit and consent participants. Additional possible tasks include
coding of fetal behavior tapes and assisting with examination of placental
gene expression. Experience with infants and newborns is preferred. Weekend
availability is required.
Many opportunities to conduct independent research, submit presentations to
national conferences, prepare papers for publication.
Must be comfortable handling biological specimens including blood.
Experience with laboratory activities preferred. Maturity and ability to
work in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced setting as well as manual dexterity
are required.
