The Academy North: The Academy North provides social skills training for
children who have difficulty with social relationships due to a variety of
problems. Interns run group and individual sessions with children at the
Academy sites as well as in schools, do intake evaluations, provide feedback
to parents, and complete progress reports. Weekly staff meetings are also
required. All internships are year-long and work on a school calendar from
September into June, including work during parts of school vacation. There
are two levels of internship: 1)interns work in group therapy sessions and
do intakes 3 afternoons per week, for a total of 12 hours per week. 2) For
those seeking more intensive training, this clinical internship includes
experience in group therapy, intake assessments, school counseling and
consultation for a total of 3 days per week, totaling 22 hours.
Additionally, the Academy North runs a summer program called Camp Triumph,
which also has internship opportunities.
LEND: Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. This is a
federal program implemented in Boston at Children's Hospital. LEND fellows
attend an all-day session on Fridays throughout the year, and also work in a
community organization. This is not direct work with children and families,
but is directed toward advocacy. Year-long internship.
Jumpstart, Tufts Site: Jumpstart is a national program to encourage
literacy development in preschool settings. The intern serves as an
assistant site manager, overseeing the work of Jumpstart corps members
(Tufts students), and doing training and organizational work. This is a
stipended position. Year-long position.
Institute for Learning and Development and Research (ILD): ILD is a clinical
organization located in Lexington, MA that helps children, adolescents and
adults with learning and attentional difficulties. There are clinical and
research internships available. Year-long (could be semester-long).
Center for Children with Special Needs (CCSN): This is at Tufts New England
Medical Center, and is a clinic serving young children with special needs
and their families. There are a number of projects available.
Countdown to Kindergarten: Countdown to Kindergarten is a Boston program
serving families living in Boston. This program engages in community
outreach to help families with young children, and offers playgroups for
children ages 1-3 and their caregivers. The inter would work under the
direction of the Project Coordinator (an E-P alum) to help build capacity
for playgroups, fundraising, grant writing, evaluation efforts, build
partnerships with community organizations and Boston Public Schools, and
work directly in playgroups. Semester or year-long. See their website at

Reaching Out About Depression: ROAD Children's Internship Position through
the Cambridge Health Alliance fosters the pro-social and emotional
development of children whose mothers are dealing with poverty and
depression. There are 12-week workshops that mothers attend and the intern
will run a therapeutic program for the children during that time. Must be
available on Friday evenings to attend the ROAD workshops.

authorities, civic organizations, the academic community and other
interested parties. Maintain relationships with the Bureau's Board of
Directors.
■ Monitor City Council, School Committee and legislative meetings and
hearings.
■ Research and write articles for the Bureau's monthly newsletter.
■ Perform project related and internal Bureau administrative
activities.
Qualifications
Candidates should have relevant experience using data, research and
analysis; strong skills in writing and critical thinking and a serious
interest in policy development. Graduation from an accredited college or
university in public administration, political science, business
administration or a related field is required. Experience working with
local government or a Master's degree preferred. Computers: MS Office
platform.
Salary range $40,000 - $60,000 depending on qualifications, three weeks'
vacation, health and dental benefits and pension plan.

Job Description:
The Annenberg School for Communication's Children's Media Lab
(www.asc.upenn.edu/childrenmedia) is undertaking a longitudinal study
with young children aged birth to eight. Broadly, the purpose of the
project is to evaluate media usage and access in the homes of young
children, and to relate this access and use to developmental outcomes
associated with language and literacy development. The project will be
carried out across two large cities, Philadelphia, PA and Washington,
DC, with Georgetown University providing support for the Washington, DC
contingent.
We are currently looking to hire a coordinator for this longitudinal
study. The coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects
of study including (1) daily management of the project in collaboration
with the Principal Investigator, (2) supervising case managers and data
collectors to ensure program activities are in compliance with study
protocol, (3) providing support and maintaining communication with
project staff at Georgetown University, (4) overseeing all data
collection, entry, and storage procedures, (5) conducting data analysis
and providing data summaries to Principal Investigator, and (6)
preparing and processing all regulatory and grant related paperwork
related to the longitudinal study.
Qualifications:
A Master's Degree or more is required in Psychology, Education,
Communication, or related field with minimum 3 years to 5 years of
experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong
research background required, with prior experience managing a large
research project or a project involving multiple sites a plus. Prior
supervisory experience required. Documented experience with young
children aged 0 to 8. Documented experience administering assessments to
children aged 0 to 8 years and interviewing parents of young children.
Experience with statistical analysis, including knowledge of SPSS.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as the ability to
work independently with little supervision. Excellent telephone and
interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with
diverse populations. Able to confidently multi-task and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational, computer, and writing skills. Must be able to
work occasional evenings or weekends. Some domestic travel is required.
Must own or have access to a car for local travel, a valid driver's
license is required.
